My name is Karen Minott and for many years I’ve dreamed of owning my own yarn and fabric business. Casco Bay Fibers is the realization of that dream.
I learned to knit when I was eight-years-old thanks to my mom. Many years later I learned to sew and discovered another passion, eventually becoming skilled at both quilting and apparel making.
I enjoy knitting, sewing and making jewelry with a newly found interest in metalsmithing. It’s really exciting to create a one-of-a-kind outfit, like a handmade summer dress, cute knit shrug and matching jewelry.
What I love about running Casco Bay Fibers is putting to use the experience I gained from the many years of crafting and working in the industry. Now I have the opportunity to teach and serve other area hobbyists. Whether it’s picking out a fabric, yarn or pattern, or celebrating the completion of a challenging project, I find that working with my customers makes me happy.
Besides running the shop I like to ride bikes with my family, garden in my yard and joke around to make people laugh. Stop into Casco Bay Fibers today and say hello.
